The NewTom 3G

The NewTom 3G is a new dentomaxillofacial CT scanner, designed for dental practices.

Introduced as a top-of-the-range scanner with more imaging possibilities than the existing NewTom 9000.

Both machines use CBVT (or Cone Beam Volumetric Tomography) technology and a low-energy x-ray tube, similar to that found in dental panoramic machines.

This makes 3-D radiography much safer for dental patients as the radiation incurred is only about 50 μSv, or around 80% less than a scan from a typical full-body hospital scanner.

NewTom's information-rich 3-D imagery can improve diagnosis and treatment planning in many areas - more confident implant surgery is just one of its benefits.
